The Orlando-Mulford Retreat is a one-unit, single-bed facility where you are welcome to be as sociable or as private as you wish. Two small dogs do share the premises and are known to snoop at times; however, they are very discreet in sharing information—even with their parents. If you want to stay in a rather intimate setting and kick back away from the crowds of Orlando, and you can live with these rates and rules, you may have found your spot . . .

 General Rules
In general, we try not to have too many "rules" at the Orlando-Mulford Retreat, but we do have some requests to make of our guests:

Arrival and Hours of Operation
Check-in times are flexible, however your initial arrival must be scheduled to ensure that someone is available to issue keys and lead your tour of the grounds. After this initial meeting, you are free to quietly come and go as you wish. We ask only that you remember you are staying in a residential neighborhood in which children play, men and women work, and elderly persons live. Check-out times are flexible, depending on the arrival time of any incoming guests.

Parking
Off-street parking is provided for one vehicle.

Cleanliness
We hope (and entrust) that you have enough respect for us to clean up after yourselves, especially in the exterior gardens. The community kitchen, laundry area, and bathroom will be cleaned by the owner, but we ask that you assist in keeping the areas tidy and usable.

Pets
Please contact us in advance, but in general, we will agree to allow one or two small, well-behaved, at least minimally trained dogs—twelve to fifteen pounds or less—as long as they are quiet and friendly toward people and other dogs. Dogs are free to roam the fenced back yard as long as the parent agrees to clean up subsequent messes and "deposits" in the yard and gardens!

Children
We usually do not "welcome" children into the facility, but exceptions are made so ask before ruling us out. The primary reason that we discriminate against children is because the facility and grounds have not been designed to be child-friendly and because we do have two small dogs who are surprisingly good around children but not used to the idea of them being around for any length of time.

Utilities
Wireless Internet access is provided for "regular" use.
Landline phone service is no longer provided.
Heating, air conditioning, and electrical services are provided at no additional charge; use of kitchen facilities, washer and dryer are included as needed.

Linens
Clean towels are provided daily; bed linens will be changed only once per visit or once per week.

Furnishings and Occupancy
The Orlando-Mulford Retreat is one private guest room in a separate building with private access. One double-size bed is provided in the guest room, so occupancy is generally limited to two adults (or one writer who is seeking editorial assistance); additional guests may be made comfortable with an air matress in the guest room or the main house for an additional charge of $12 each per night. Facility is not handicap accessible. No smoking is permitted inside buildings; smoking is discouraged but tolerated outside as long as guests control their butts!
If desired, kitchen (refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave) and laundry facilities (cold-water washer and propane gas dryer) are located in the main house and are shared with the owner. Bathroom facilities (with tub and shower) are also in the main house at this time and shared with the owner.

Changes in Plans/Cancellations
If any change/postponement/cancellation is received and acknowledged by the owner no less than five days prior to your originally scheduled arrival, your full deposit can be transfered to another guest or applied toward another scheduled stay. After your third change/postponement/cancellation, all deposits are forfeited.

Payment
The Orlando-Mulford Retreat prefers payment by credit card, but other alternatives are discussed on  the payment page of this Web site.  Credit card payments are processed through PayPal; transactions are routed through  the-freelance-editor, the parent entity of the Orlando-Mulford Retreat.
